Our mission is to provide long-term safe interim housing for men struggling with trauma
related disorders, including but not limited to PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance abuse
and relational issues.
Residents will be provided daily intensive therapy by professional counselors for the duration
of their stay.
The Name Iron Heart Recovery reflects the hearts of those who push past fear into action, setting
aside personal needs to honor the needs of others.
When ready, the resident will engage in therapy with his children (if applicable). This phase of treatment will be provided with therapist observed interactions in our children’s area (family rooms and outside play areas) to teach and improve healthy parenting interactions.
Residents will be provided the opportunity to use the Iron Heart Recovery garage to develop basic skills in mechanics and auto body needed to restore vehicles. This encourages recovery by helping to develop their own trade knowledge, creating brotherhood and contribute to raising funds for Iron Heart Recovery for future residents.
Graduates will be encouraged to patriculate in the aftercare program and invited to participate in the many Iron Heart Recovery programs to pay forward for new residents.
The vision overall is to see men overcome the challenge of recovery, unify their families, and become pillars of their community.
Iron Heart Recovery was born out of multitude of heartaches. Specifically for our Veterans and First Responders.
As a Refuge Trauma and Counseling Center, we stand at the front line to treat the trauma that our Heroes endure
due to their service. The Refuge continues to be hindered in its intensive treatments by the need for local, safe
and supportive housing. The time is now that we meet this need.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission. Your donation will allow the vision to become reality.
